Perth District Health Unit to Stop Travel Vaccines

The increase in access to travel health services, combined with an upcoming change to the provincial standards that guide public health units in Ontario, means that the Perth District Health Unit will discontinue their own travel advice and clinics for travel vaccines as of September 1, 2017.

If anyone is looking for travel health advice and vaccines, they can contact:
1. The Perth District Health Unit (until August 31, 2017)
2. Local pharmacies (for anyone aged 5 and over).
• Please remember most travel vaccines are not covered by OHIP, which means there will be a fee and many require a prescription from a doctor.
3. Dr. John Fitzsimons, Stratford Family Health Team will provide travel consultation (including vaccination). Please note you do not need to be a patient of the Stratford Family Health Team.
• Call his office at 519-273-4993.
4. A private travel health clinic in Kitchener, Waterloo or London.
