When I came across this article by Leah McLennan I realized she had discovered a paradise. "Island almost a time warp" describes her experience in this incredible, remote place a two hour trip from Sydney in Australia.
Ms. LcLennan describes this serene, seemingly secret getaway as a trip back in time, where, as she learns from Dani, manger from Pinetrees, the oldest of the island's resorts:
"The speed limit is 25kmh, everyone rides bikes and there are honesty boxes eveywhere - "at the boatshed just put the money in the tin and help yourself to a drink, at Neds Beach the masks, fins and snorkels are in the shed and at the nine-hole golf course help yourself to the equipment."
A place without crime. There is, however, plenty of "delightfully simple" but delicious food and friendly people.
