Testimonials from our clients

I always have such a great time on all trips you have helped me plan, Monica.

Laura, Srathroy, ON - (trip to Vietnam)

I had  a fantastic time in Vietnam and the Geckos tour was great!  It was really the best of both worlds with this tour since all the transportation and accommodation were arranged but in each place it was a lot of free time to do whatever you wanted!  I did end up doing a lot of the excursions they offered but they were all reasonably priced!  And the food, oh man, where to start!  The food was absolutely amazing and oh so cheap!!!!  It was good that we had the tour guide with us to recommend places to go because he brought us so a few places that I would never just walk into and the food ended up being soooo good!  I am surprised I didn’t come home 500lbs.

People were not kidding about the traffic though, it was probably the most shocking thing and hardest to get used to.  But by the end of the trip, I could cross the road, somewhat confidently haha.  They say in Saigon there are 9 million people and 7 million motorbikes, so it was crazy!  I loved all the places we went with the tour but I am very glad we continued on and did more on our own.  It was very easy to arrange transportation and book tours as you go to.  We added on a tour to Sapa (http://www.goodmorningsapa.com/en/) where we went up into the mountains on a sleeper bus and spent a night at a hotel and night at a home stay and hiked through the mountains with the local women….it was absolutely amazing!!! I would strongly recommend that anyone going to Vietnam add on Sapa….it was just such amazing scenery and culture and just was so much fun!  We also went to the national park Phong Nha at the end as well.  This place was really cool because there was so many caves and scenery here too!  We did a day tour where we got to go and explore 2 of the popular caves there…paradise cave which was just huge and amazing and then the dark cave where we zip lined and swam to the entrance of the cave and then hiked through it with headlamps and such to a mud bath at the end.   Liz ended up staying to do a few more places in Vietnam and I headed to Bangkok for my last couple days before I came home.  It was all in all an awesome trip and I am so glad that we choose Vietnam to do!

Thanks, Monica, for helping us book everything. I always have such a great time on all trips you have helped me plan.  Its always nice knowing that things are all arranged and that if I have any issues I can always come to you!  Thanks so much!

We would both highly recommend this resort to others that want to travel to Los Cabos.

Mel and Jeff, Stratford, ON - (trip to Los Cabos Baja California Sur Mexico)

I just thought I would send a quick message to thank you Terri, for recommending the Royal Decameron. We had a excellent holiday!

Everything was wonderful from the small resort feeling to the food, our room  and the employees. We would both highly recommend this resort to others that want to travel to Los Cabos.

Thanks again!

The RIU Palace in Costa Rica was the best we have ever stayed at!

Tammy and Tony, Stratford, ON - (trip to Costa Rica)

The RIU Palace resort in Costa Rica is the best resort we've stayed in. Great pick on your part, Terri!

You said the beach was so so.  Not true. It is beautiful. The sand is not white.  It is about the same color as Grand Bend with a black undertone. But there are treed areas on the beach which offer shade and a semblance of privacy.  It is very unique.  The beach at the other hotel has no trees, so to me, not as nice.

Buffet food had everyone raving. We didn't do the a la cartes because they didn't interest us.

Pools could use more shade, but there is lots at the next hotel if needed.

Rooms were excellent. There was a chemical odor in the room when we got here. They bumped us up to an ocean view.  Still the same odor. I think they may have been spraying the rooms.

Not a mosquito in the resort, but there were some sand fleas on the beach. I didn't use bug spray once, but we only went for a walk on the beach, we didn't stay on it long. I only know about the sand fleas because someone told me she spent the day on the beach and got a few bites.

The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We took the side trip to Nicaragua to see the active volcano. Left at 5:00 am and returned 8:00 pm. Long day but worth it. Seeing lava about a mile down the crater.

We did not get to go zip lining but apparently, the zip line next door is either the highest or the longest zip line in the world. That just means will have to come back!

Hope this helps you.  You certainly helped us!

I will certainly continue to recommend Blowes Travel!

Jim, London , ON - (trip to Varadero, Cuba)

I think I can speak for all of us when I convey our mutual satisfaction with this beautiful Varadero Paradisus Princesa Del Mar resort on the Varadero Peninsula.

The resort has many bonuses that were important to all of us, some of which I will list: modern, clean, fresh outstanding architecture and grounds. Excellent food and variety. Superb nightly varied entertainment. Incredible beach, friendly service, terrific selection of a la carte restaurants, particularly the Japanese one.

In addition, we were all impressed with our day trip to Havana and were quite surprised how Cubans have been busy restoring their wonderful European style architecture dating back to the 1600s c/w its cobble streets and 1950s array of brightly coloured cars.

All in all it was a fantastic trip we will all enjoy remembering for years to come. Thanks again for your all your help and I will certainly continue to recommend Blowes Travel, and particularly Karen McKenzie.

Thanks Karen!
Cheers, Jim

We would go back to the Valentin Imperial Maya in a heartbeat

Bill and Harriet, London, ON - (trip to Maya Riviera Mexico)

Hello Jennifer! We had a great vacation in Mexico and the resort was fabulous...we loved it ..great food and great service... would go back in a heartbeat.

We also took a day to take a tour of the Coba ruins. We did that through Altournative Playa Del Carmen tours available through representative at resort. It also included visiting a Mayan community and had lunch with them.. so cool.. our tour guides were great and so knowledgeable.

Thanks so much for helping us put together such a great vacation.. it was awesome!

Thank you Beth for all your help and advice on this trip!

Carol and Bob, London, ON - (trip to Jamaica)

Hi Beth,

Just wanted to let you know that our trip to Jamaica was great!

As I emailed earlier to you, I was a little uncomfortable crammed into the seat at the back of a crowded plane and the guy ahead of me had to push his seat right back! We went to see the Sunwing rep at the scheduled talk she gave about the resort and tours. I after it was over, I asked her about the seat situation and she called Sunwing and we got moved up to row2....so much better!

We were so grateful for your suggestion to use Club Mobay and for the private transfer to the resort! It saved so much time and energy in a very crowded airport and we would certainly do that again!

The Rose Hall Suites resort was wonderful and on the second day they were able to upgrade us to an ocean view room ...beautiful ocean sights from our balcony. Food was terrific, water safe, beach and grounds were well cared for, and the nightly live entertainment was super for all ages!

Thank you for all your help and advice on this trip! We certainly will do it again but hopefully with enough lead time that we can opt for the extra leg room seats at the front!

The Koningsdam ship was the best experience we’ve had!

Carol and Harold, London, ON - (trip to )

Thank you Beth for booking our trip - a beautiful ship, fabulous weather, delicious food, and excellent service from Holland America.

Previously we have sailed on MSC, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Celebrity and Holland America Maasdam.  The Koningsdam was the best experience we’ve had.

The balcony room was really good.  Bathroom was much better than any ship we’ve been on previously - probably because ship is brand new.  It had a very large walk-in shower (footprint was the size of a bathtub).  The counter was marble.  Balcony had comfortable reclining chairs, foot stool and small table.

We ate in specialty restaurants 5 nights (it’s not for everyone, but we thought it was good value at $119 per person) that were completely different experiences.

One other point worth mentioning.  The embarkation and disembarkation processes were outstanding. We boarded by 11:30 (opened at 11:00)….and all rooms were ready at that time. For disembarkation, we chose to carry our own luggage off the ship and were off at 7:25 a.m.  We have Nexus and whizzed through the customs with no line at all. We were actually trying to check in to our hotel at 8:00 a.m.!!  In retrospect, we could have easily made the same day flight at 11:10 a.m., but who would have known!

Thank you for your assistance, Jennifer, in making this a very memorable experience.

Dennis and Marianne, London, ON - (trip to Riviera Maya Quintana Roo Mexico)

We had a wonderful trip at the Valentin Imperial Maya. GREAT RESORT! We enjoyed ourselves from the time the Transat plane took off in London, until we landed. Thank you for your assistance in making this a very memorable experience. I have already recommended your services to a couple of our customers and we picked up some brochures I will drop off to you. The only thing I could suggest: Tell the men going to this resort to bring dress shoes or they won’t get into some of the restaurants in the evening.

Best regards, Dennis and Marianne

Thanks for all your expert help Jennifer in making this trip possible!

Stew and Betty, London, ON - (trip to San Francisco CA USA)

Our California Classics trip by Globus was excellent in all aspects! We went from San Francisco to San Diego. The Globus tour was very good with the best part being the Tour Director, Ken Hartford.  He is a real nature enthusiast so was most informative and enthusiastic about places like Yosemite and also well-informed and prepared about everything else as well. When stopping at towns/cities such as Sacramento and Carmel, he would distribute maps beforehand with recommended restaurants, attractions so we could make the most of our time and no one got lost!  It was a moderate paced tour with some long driving days (in order to include Lake Tahoe and Yosemite) and 7:45 and 8:00 am departures.

We lucked out with the weather.  Apparently that’s about as good as it gets for San Francisco - warm and very clear. The only day there was fog (or the marine layer as it’s called in southern CA) was the day we drove along the 17 mile drive which was unfortunate but we saw so many other gorgeous sites that we can’t complain. I was impressed that the tour director whipped out word puzzles for everyone to pass the time when it was foggy.

Although only one other couple in our group did the San Diego extension as we did, we are very glad we included it!  San Diego is amazing and the location of the hotel (Embassy Suites) that we stayed at was excellent as it overlooked the Bay and Coronado bridge and was central to attractions such as the USS Midway and the SeaPort Village. Our tour director accompanied us from our hotel in LA to the train station and another Globus 'meeter & greeter'  met us at the San Diego station and accompanied us to our hotel then provided info about what to do/see.  We felt well looked after.

The part of our trip we did on our own went well also.  After we arrived and picked up the car, we headed north out of SF and spent our first night at the Motel Inverness  on Point Reyes.  It was such a calm, beautiful & unique spot to stay after a long travel day. We wished that we had allocated more time to explore Point Reyes.  We spent our 2nd & 3rd nights at the Sea Rock Inn in town of Mendocino on the coast and 4th & 5th nights at the Belle de Jour Inn/B&B in Healdsburg in the heart of wine country. We highly recommend both of these beautiful accommodations with excellent breakfasts included. Mendocino is a great town with many awesome coastal views. We had enough time to explore around these areas without having to do too much driving each day.

Thanks so much for your expert help in making it all possible.

The staff on the Rocky Mountaineer train were outstanding!

Jack, Stratford, ON - (trip to Vancouver BC)

The Rocky Mountaineer tour that Agnes booked for us was so very well organized and carried out. We were certainly just along for the ride, so relaxing! The staff both on and off the train were outstanding!  The city of Vancouver has much to see and do. Transit was easy to access and people are very friendly and helpful. And we rate Agnes Segeren-Pethick a 10 out of 10!
