Testimonials from our clients

Darlene was our Transat contest winner and this is her testimonial of the Windjammer Landing Villa in St. Lucia

Darlene, London ON - (trip to Saint Lucia)

The trip to St. Lucia was AMAZING!!!! We’d go back in a heartbeat.

Fantastic food, 100% a la carte if you chose, or they had a buffet breakfast each morning.  It was very peaceful (no activities/music in the afternoon). Our room was upgraded free of charge to the Hibiscus 1 bedroom with a gorgeous ocean view room. There were lots of little pools around the resort, with the main pool that was close to a bar.

We had a great experience and would recommend it to anyone.

The only challenge would be for those who had a hard time walking, the resort was on a hill (you could take a shuttle)

While we were in St. Lucia, we took the land/sea tour, when into Castries shopping and ate at a local restaurant recommended by the Darryl at the front desk in Rodney Bay before experiencing their Friday night street party. (on top of the water skiing, snorkeling and banana boating at the resort that we enjoyed)

Thanks again for the recommendation, Zeri!

Resort in Varadero, Cuba was Excellent

Dwayne and Sue and family, London - (trip to Varadero Cuba)

We had a fantastic time on our vacation at the Iberostar Laguna Azul!  The resort was excellent, we were a little scared about the comments we were seeing before we went – but had no concerns at all once there

The room setup was so perfect for us, it was great to have a setup that gave our family the space we needed.  On the first day, after we got settled and went to the beach, we returned to find that they had put a cot in each of our rooms without us even asking!

The food was good, it was as we would expect for Cuba, everyone had their favourites and plenty to eat.  The beach was fabulous, so wide and we never had to search for a lounge chair.  That was a first for us, to have access to space on the beach so easily – and made Dwayne and I super happy as we are beach people when we travel.

We did an excursion that we just bought off the beach, where we spent a half day and went snorkeling at a beach about 30 minutes away.  It was really well organized and such a beautiful couple hours, they did video and pictures for us for 25 canadian and we were thrilled with that.

Tthe shows were actually really excellent, they brought in a lot of the talent, the circus night was fantastic with excellent stunts and performers.  And my favourite night was the Rockband night with live musician and excellent rock music that everyone knew.

We would recommend this resort to others going to Cuba, and thanks so much Jennifer for your quick help to us getting this trip planned!!

Our amazing time at the Royalton in Cancun!

Cathy, Strathroy - (trip to Cancun)

Hi Monica,
Just wanted to send a quick email to let you know about our amazing time at the Royalton!
1.  Valet Parking is SWEEEET!
2.  For the short flight, same time zone and 15 minutes to/from the airport...the travelling time was great!
3.  Food was AWESOME!  The nine a la carte restaurants (Japanese and Steakhouse were my absolute favourites) and the buffet...top notch
We found out by day three that for the buffet, they had a separate room for Hideaway guests to dine  in away from the Royalton guests with kids:)
4.  Service...top notch EVERYWHERE!  We were treated like gold!
5.  Entertainment....best I've seen at any all-inclusive I've stayed at.  The costumes, stage, lighting, music and performers were amazing!
6.  Adults Only....why haven't we done this before!  Loved it, loved it, loved it!  Our drinks (which were made with top shelf liquors) were served right to us every day.  Check out the coconut drinks...filled with some kind of tequila goodness....so much fun!
We stayed by the pool most of the week (with one beach day) and in the afternoons were treated to synchronized swimmers, a electric violin player, four piece band with singer, and a crazy, soap sud party in the pool with rocking music!  There was always a lunch buffet set up with fish, ribs, steak, chicken, salad, vegetables etc...so delicious.  Pool area was lovely, and we enjoyed the hot tub as well!
7.  Beach was beautiful and so close to the resort...sand was white and soft....yes seaweed washed up everyday...but they were always busy cleaning it up.  The water was nice...not clear and bright blue like other Caribbean destinations but still nice. ( but like I said we only stayed on the beach one day with friends we had met...otherwise Brian and I are pool people
8.  Room was great....loved the huge, double rainhead showers!  Our view from the balcony overlooked the swampy mangrove...so that just meant we spent more time out of our room than in.  Resort was full so we were not able to get a room overlooking pool area.  Asked about swim-out room upgrade but was too much ($145 US extra per day)...glad I ended up just booking a regular room anyway, as only one side of the resort for these rooms got sun...the other two sides were pretty much shaded all day.
9.  One night at the disco...great music...lots of fun!
The hardest part of my week was trying to get my book read in between all the fun!  Another fun note, this was the first time I had ever been to a resort down south with "escalators." I told my parents that this place would be perfect for our entire family vacation at the Royalton... kids would love the splash pad/water park there...so many hours of entertainment readily available for the kids...no wonder there were so many vacationing there!
The only downfall, are the time share people...but we just smiled and kept on our way!
Let me know if I missed anything!  I think the only thing I'm missing now is the sun:)

Thank you for an excellent Vacation to the Rose Bowl Parade

Kathy and Paul, London, ON - (trip to Pasadena CA USA)

We made it home yesterday and it was a great vacation.  The YMT Tour Group was excellent, very well organized.  They are the largest tour group that does the Rose Parade tour package, over 1200 people, in four hotels were there for the parade this year.  The optional's that we chose were great.  The cable car ride was fun and Chinatown dinner was excellent.  The only problem with the wine tour is that they stopped in between two wineries at a very expensive upscale town center square for 2 hours of shopping which wasn't in our wallet range.  No one on the bus was very impressed.  I wish that they had just taken us to another winery or a more appropriate shopping mall.  There was a Napa Premium Outlets Mall which for our bus group would have been a better choice.  The only other problem the last 3 days was of course the weather, but it is California in January so we couldn't expect anything different.

The hotels were great as well.  The best one was the one in Pismo Beach, The Cliffs.  Very upscale. The Holiday Inn Express in San Francisco was in a great location, we could walk right down to Fisherman's Wharf and all the shopping and restaurants there.

Your travel arrangements were great as well.  Two small blips, we were late leaving Toronto because of the ice storm the night before.  Several flights were either delayed or cancelled due to that storm.  Then on arrival back in London, Mitchell was chosen to be the poster boy on our flight for CBS and was randomly selected for a bag search.  Lucky Mitchell.

There was so much more to see and do to tell you, but I am sure that you will be hearing from Bonnie, as I know they are going to Mexico, and she will fill you in on more.

Thank you. Jennifer, for arranging this excellent vacation.

Kathy and Paul

You helped make this the best family vacation ever!

Lyle and Carol, Strathroy, ON - (trip to Aruba)

Hello Monica! The trip was 100% awesome! Elite Plus at the Rui Palace in Aurba worked great and we would do this again!

All aspects of this resort complex were renovated 2 years ago and they did a great job. We did go to adult tower building twice but we still found our RIU Palace to be the best choice.

POSITIVE SIDE (all excellent)

  • temperature - perfect
  • rooms
  • drinks
  • food
  • new years eve food and get together
  • friendly staff all areas of resort
  • family tours taken in UTVs, snorkling, deep sea fishing ,
  • power boat tubing
  • fire works start early afternoon of New Years Eve and go on all over island all night long. My Family said this was something they have never seen and will remember for ever.

Overall, I cannot think how a family vacation could be any better than this one anywhere. Maybe it was the organizer?! Thanks again!

Couple takes a honeymoon trip of a lifetime to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro - Best trip ever!

Lauren and John, Strathroy - (trip to Tanzania, Africa)

The trip to Mount Kilimanjaro was simply fantastic. Best trip ever. I don’t know how we will top that but it was brilliant for our honeymoon.

The climb was HARD…really hard. Like extremely hard for me but we made it to the top! Omg and the safari…. It makes me cry thinking about how amazing it was to have the wind blowing through my hair in the Serengeti

Yes Africa did change us. We are used to doing the third world country thing (we have been to cuba over 20 times) but this was so eye opening for us. Everything we take for granted. Those people are sooo happy and they have nothing.

The trip was like a dream. Thank you again Monica, for everything!

Honeymoon at the Platinum Yucatan Mayan Riviera, Mexico

Meghan and Kyle from London, ON - (trip to Tulum Q.R. Mexico)

Our honeymoon was great! The resort was beautiful, the rooms were very large, and we had a great view from our third floor balcony, overlooking the quieter pool, and bar area. The staff were very helpful from the moment we arrived, and whenever there was an issue that needed fixing- like the wrong stopper for the tub, or the safe locking us out, someone was there within 10 minutes, and a courtesy call followed.  The cleaning service was great.  We always had enough fresh towels. The beach was relaxing, and we were able to find a place to read and take a nap under the shade, and the drinks were always flowing. We did one excursion to XEL-HA, which was snorkeling and a tour of Tulum. It was a fun day, and it only rained a little. The food was good, and the Tao restaurant was very good, probably our favourite.

It rained a couple days, but only for a little each time. The only down side we experienced, was the shopping trip. If you booked an excursion, you received a free shuttle into town and was supposed to be a 4 hour trip. We were taken 40 min the opposite way to a jewellery factory, and after 40 min there, had to wait for a shuttle to take us to a little shop, where we then had to wait for over half an hr for a shuttle to take us back towards our resort into town. What should've been 4 hours, ended up being  6 hours.  But aside from that we had an excellent stress free honeymoon, and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Thanks Jennifer for all your help!

A Postitive Review of the Paradisus Rio de Oro, in Holguin Cuba

Kathy, Strathroy - (trip to Holguin Cuba)

We really enjoyed this resort in Cuba. It was very clean. We had absolutely no complaints regarding food. We went to 3 of the 4 A La Cartes which were all very good. We missed the Japanese one which I did hear was really good.

The rooms were clean and they are updating the bathrooms in all the rooms by the sounds of it. We did not go to the spa for any treatments but we did go and have a look around and if we were there longer would definitely spent a day there.

The beaches were clean and water sports were included (did not cost extra) which we didn’t realize until the last day but still managed to have a catamaran ride (had to do a little begging). These should be booked at least a day in advance. We took a horse and buggy ride off the resort to a village and small town and felt completely safe.

The nightly entertainment was typical of Caribbean resorts but was enjoyable. They had activities going on all through the day for anyone that wanted to keep busy.

Overall the resort was very quiet. I would say they dynamics were probably more over 40 year-olds with a few younger couples so may be better for older people that just want a relaxing vacation. I guess went you go away and feel like you have been gone longer then you were it is a sign of a nice relaxing week. We would absolutely recommend this resort to others. I believe it was good value for the money.

It was the best trip that we have ever been on!

Bob and Nancy, Strathroy, ON - (trip to Vancouver BC Canada)

Wow, it is hard to believe that it is a month since our holiday to Alaska. We went on a 10 night Denali Explorer cruise tour with Princess in September 2015. Both Bob and I would like to sincerely thank you for everything that you did to make our trip so wonderful. Your recommendations were terrific and every detail was covered. We traveled with ease and enjoyed every minute.  It was the best trip that we have ever been on.  So worth the wait.
Princess is a wonderful company to travel with. They make everything so easy, from the airport, to the hotel, to the ship and  back home again. Their port  tours were so well organized and the guides were knowledgeable and very professional. We really enjoyed the land tour of Alaska, yes we were able to see Mount Denali , the autumn leaves were beautiful and the weather was spectacular! Bob and I even saw the Northern Lights, so he can stroke that one off his bucket list.(thanks for suggesting this time of year for the trip Monica - your research paid off, thanks) The Riverboat and Gold Dredge tour was fantastic. What a wonderful way to end a perfect trip.
The Coral Princess was okay, the rooms were not as clean as I would of liked them. Smelly toilet bowl brush beside the toilet ( it was bad!!!!), our robes were worn and had been around for a long time, dusty furniture. I had taken some wipes so I felt more comfortable after a little clean up.
However, the patio windows were spotless and fellow looking after our room was very friendly and accommodating.
The crew celebrated our anniversary in style; cards, Champaign, special desserts, poster on our door and everyone congratulated us on our 37th wedding anniversary. It was really a fun day. Glacier Bay was awesome, we even saw the glacier calving! A day to remember!
We enjoyed the 5:15 dinning, met great people and had a wonderful window table where we saw whales and sea otters playing. The buffet was not one of our favourite places to eat. The specialty restaurants were great. The shows and entertainment were wonderful.
Oh, I must mention that the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver is wonderful. We loved our stay there. The Denali Lodge was a spectacular spot, the view was outstanding, the rooms were cute and the hot tubes were awesome. However the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge was a big disappointment. It was dirty, beds were not  made nicely, carpets in the lobby were filthy, the food was just yucky! We found a nice restaurant down the street and went to a smoke house downtown Fairbanks the last night.
Monica, this was a wonderful trip, we are recommending you to our friends. Once we get some more points built up we will be back to see you. Thanks once again for all your help, you were fantastic! We loved our trip!
Sincerely, Bob and Nancy

Review from St. James Club in Antigua

Tony, London ON - (trip to Antigua Antigua and Barbuda)

Good afternoon Michelle! It's hard to believe but a week has passed since returning from Antigua. Thank you for all your preparation and patience. Overall, my wife and I were happy that we went back to Antigua (we went there in '77 for our honeymoon).  St. James Club offers 2 beaches but the ocean side was rough and workers were constantly raking the sand.....and the bay side beach, which we were there all the time.

Our room (Royal Suite) was great.....big, clean and also the washroom was amazing......walk-in showers, double vanities...all the amenities. The extras (spa, catamaran, dinner etc) were great.

Overall the service was good, the restaurants were good....the food was good but not amazing. Selection/variety of food ok. We both found the men (groundskeepers, chefs, waiters etc) to be very cordial and pleasant, but the some of the women in the restaurants were somewhat curt. The dress code is more relaxed for men - as long as you wear clean shorts, collared shirt and sandals.....no t-shirts or muscle shirts.

Best regards, Tony
